Like Politics? Spots Open in Niles, Morton Grove
The Niles Library board has a trustee spot open, while the Morton Grove Park District also has a spot open.
If you've ever wanted to serve your community as an appointed or elected official, you have a chance to apply for an open position.
Government bodies in Niles and Morton Grove are accepting applications for three open positions on their boards. Two are in Morton Grove, one is in Niles.

Morton Grove Park District
Commissioner Jerry Coursey, who served for 13 years, submitted his resignation effective May 31 for personal reasons, so the park district is looking for a new commissioner, said Sue Braubach, the district's marketing manager.

"The board member will look at who's the most qualified and they'll be invited for interviews with board members," she said.
The district is accepting applications through June 7 on its website. The commission who is appointed will serve through April 2013, and will have to run for election then if they wish to continue.
Niles Library District
Trustee Sam Puleo resigned for health reasons, said Sue Wilsey, the library's marketing director. Consequently, the district has an application form for a replacement trustee on its website.
Act fast, because nomination forms are due by noon Wednesday, May 23, and interviews will be held Thursday.
