Meeting to Discuss TIF Plans, Prairie View Plaza Tonight

Morton Grove to host discussion at American Legion Memorial Civic Center.

Have questions or concerns about proposed redevelopment plans for the Prairie View Plaza? 

A community meeting will be held tonight, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m., in the at 6140 Dempster St. to discuss the issue, as reported by the Morton Grove Champion.

Residents will be able to learn more about plans to establish a tax increment financing district (TIF) to help pay for improvements at the plaza.

TIF financing works by allowing increased tax revenue to be used to help pay for improvements in the area, while freezing the property taxes collected by other taxing districts.
