Meetings to Discuss District 67 Referenda

Residents have opportunity to learn more about March ballot questions.

Residents have the opportunity to learn more about a pair of referendums set for the March 20 primary ballot, which seek an increase in funding for Golf School District 67.

The first referendum would increase property taxes by .342 percent to 2.401, from 2.058, allowing funding for educational and operational purposes within the district. 

If passed, the second referendum would improve buildings at and . This includes building a gymnasium/multi-purpose room addition to Hynes Elementary School.

An informational meeting will be held this Monday, Feb. 13 at Hynes Elementary School, 6 p.m. Another meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Golf Middle School, 6 p.m. 

Scheduled presentations will include information about why additional funds are being requested, how they will be spent, what it will cost the residents of Morton Grove and Niles, as well as the consequences of a “No Vote.”

A third meeting at the will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29.
