Morton Grove Asks Businesses Input For Strategic Plan

The Strategic Plan will map the village's future; this meeting is a chance for businesses to express their needs and ideas.


The Village of Morton Grove is inviting businesses to an 8 a.m. Oct. 30 meeting to learn about the village's strategic plan, express their needs and give their ideas.

Following is information from the village. 

The Community and Economic Development Department is hosting a meeting for local businesses and commercial property owners on October 30th to discuss the community-wide strategic plan for the Village of Morton Grove.  The meeting will run from 8:00-9:30am on Wednesday, October 30th and will be held at 8300 Lehigh, Morton Grove, Il 60053.  

The Village is looking to solicit input from the businesses community as part of the data gathering phase of the strategic planning process.  Any Morton Grove business and/or commercial property owner/representative is encouraged to attend.

According to Village President Dan DiMaria: “Morton Grove’s diverse business community is the driving force behind our local economy and their input gives us a pulse on where we are and where we are going,”   DiMaria adds: “This meeting with the local businesses and commercial property owners is a crucial piece of the strategic planning process for the Village.” 

Morton Grove has hired Houseal Lavigne Associates to help the village officials create a strategic plan, which will set goals and establish priorities for the community for the next several years.  Houseal Lavigne is starting the data-gathering phase of the project, which will include traditional research as well as targeted focus group meetings and interviews and a village-wide community meeting as well as an interactive web-based mapping tool that will allow all members of the community to participate from the comfort of their own homes.   The strategic planning process is expected to take approximately 8-9 months.
