Morton Grove Hears Weapon Ban Speakers; Will Listen Again Wednesday

The Morton Grove village trustees, Mayor Dan DiMaria and key village staff members listened Monday night as about 14 speakers gave their opinions on whether the village should pass an assault weapons ban.

The board is scheduled to have the first reading of any ordinance, if it develops one, on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at village hall. It would then have the second reading, and vote on it, at a Thursday meeting at 6 p.m. at village hall. The Thursday meeting also has other items on the agenda.

Anyone who wishes to give their opinion may do so at the Wednesday meeting, or else by phoning village hall at (847) 965-4100 or emailing the mayor and trustees. Click here for their email addresses.
