Barbara Nakanishi didn't have much time to campaign in this election because she was caring for a relative who was in and out of the hospital.
Still, the incumbent won re-election to the Niles Library District board as the top vote-getter, with 1,270 votes.
Newcomer Danette Matyas received 1,047 votes to also earn a seat on the board.

Newcomer Douglas Bressler also ran and made a strong showing, receiving 1,016 votes.
