With rain in the weekend forecast and temperatures expected to rise to as high as 43 ℉ by Sunday, the National Weather Service cautions there could be flooding this weekend.

Scott Jochim, Director of Public Services for the village of Niles, said Public Works crews are plowing the village's streets Friday to make sure catch basins are clear.

"I do not see capacity as a problem for our storm sewers, but you never know," he wrote in an email to Patch.com.

"We have people on stand-by daily and will always call in the employees that are needed."

The village also has sandbags ready.
