Pizza, Bingo, Sports Offered To Residents

Niles hosts a Resident Appreciation Night.

Kids bounced from the craft-making area to the pizza tables to the swimming pool Saturday evening as the Village of Niles gave residents free reign to the Niles Family Fitness Center.

Meanwhile, seniors filled a room set up as a casino area with roulette wheels. A bingo game was going on, too.

From 6 to 8 p.m., the village welcomed residents to use the gym and pool and enjoy pizza, crafts and games during its Resident Appreciation Night, in honor of Niles being named the Best Place In America to Raise Kids by Bloomberg/BusinessWeek.

Trustees Chris Hanusiak and Louella Preston also came to the event.

"At last count, we had just over 100 people," said Denise McCreery, the village's Business Coordinator, about 40 minutes into the evening.
