Tribune Endorses Wolfe Over Schakowsky

The unexpected move comes as the Daily Herald endorses Schakowsky in the 9th Congressional District.

The Chicago Tribune has endorsed newcomer Tim Wolfe, a Republican from Arlington Heights, over longtime Rep. Jan Schakowsky, of Evanston, for the 9th Congressional District.

The move came as something of a surprise, since the newspaper has endorsed Schakowsky in the past, including in 2010. It said Washington could use more of Wolfe's fiscal restraint.

The Daily Herald's editorial board said it had mixed feelings, but ultimately decided to endorse Schakowsky over Wolfe. Her standing as chief deputy whip of the House Democrats benefits the suburbs, the paper said.

The Chicago Sun-Times has decided not to endorse candidates, saying it will instead provide readers information and let them make their own decisions.

It is about time the Tribune wised up. "Jan" has been contributing to the left wing mess long enough. Those who endorse her because she "brings federal money to the north shore" forget that she also takes money from the north shore, is anti-business and pro growing government. Tax and regulate is her mantra right into bankruptcy. Anyone but "Jan".

Of course it did - the Tribune has historically been a right-wing newspaper. This is absolutely no surprise to anyone who grew up in Chicago.

YES, We need real Leader's, not a Democrappic Non Sense believing North Shore hypocrite. Let's move on and leave her non sense at the curb!

The Tribune showed a lot of integrity endorsing Mr. Wolfe.
Ms. Schakowsky's solutions to our fiscal woes that will cripple this country is to raise taxes. According to the Wall Street Journal, (April 17, 2011) if we taxed 100% of income over $114,000 (and income below $114,000 at existing rates) we couldn't balance the federal budget--there would still be a $200 billion deficit. That is how deep the hole is that we are in. That is the mess we are handing to the next generation. Ms. Schakowsky does not have the skill set to tackle this most pressing problem. She does have the skill set for the Global Education Initiative--which would make sense if we didn't have education issues right here in the USA and, if we didn't need to borrow from China to pay for this. Good luck, Tim.

Good. Time to put Schackowsky in retirement.

Just went to the National Taxpayer Union website and saw that they gave Ms. Schakowsky an F rating. This further proves how out of touch Ms. Schakowsky is regarding the most pressing issues facing the United States.

The election of 2012 will shape the direction that our country is heading towards. To change the direction we need to study the candidates and determine whether they are willing to embrace fiscal responsibility, the constitution and liberty. Ms. Schakowsky's approach to indebtedness will leave future generations shackled to the irresponsible fiscal mistakes this generation has made. If you endorse bicycle helmets for the children, then you should vote for Tim Wolfe--for the children.;

This bums me out that I am posting three times in a row, but I just checked Ms. Schakowsky's large donors on opensecrets.org. AFSME, $10,000, State of Illinois $11,025, multiple unions donating thousands to Ms. Schakowsky. Does Ms. Schakowsky donor base reflect the 9th District? It is up to the electorate to stop and think about who is supporting Ms. Schakowsky how those dollars influence her votes and how her votes impact all taxpayers. Anyone who has read Shel Silverstein's the Giving Tree to their children knows the giving tree is the taxpayer and the child is the union. Look at what unions have done to multiple industries. Look at what they are doing to us in Illinois with the pension mess we have in Illinois. Is Ms. Schakowsky capable to being an adult and stand up to the unions?Look what happened to the giving tree and learn a lesson or, we will be cut down like the giving tree.
