Village Clerk Recuperating After Car Crash

Tony Kalogerakos was injured in crash last week

Morton Grove Village Clerk Tony Kalogerakos is recuperating after a car crash last week.

Mayor Dan Staackmann did not have a lot of details on the accident or Kalogerakos' condition, but said he was well enough to reply to a text message from Staackmann.

Village Administrator Joe Wade said the accident happened last week in Wisconsin and that Kalogerakos was a passenger. Wade said he believes Kalogerakos was hospitalized overnight and then released.

Kalogerakos' absense was noted at Monday night's Village Board meeting and the trustees publically wished him a speedy recovery.

Staackmann sent this statement to Patch the next day: "I hope & pray for him & his Mother whom he looks after."

He said the village is in good shape in terms of covering for Kalogerakos while he's out with Marylyn Sneider and Sue Latanzi as deputy clerks. Sneider was the village clerk from 2002-2005.
