Village Officials Cheered by Housing Price Incease

Final quarter of 2010 was up over 2009, release says,

Village officials were pleased to learn that, according to the "Chicago Tribune," Morton Grove's housing prices increased 4.5 percent during the last quarter of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009.

John Said, director of community development, issued a press release Monday stating that this was particularly good news since housing prices in nearby communities decreased by between 11 and 17 percent.

"In that environment, this one bright spot is welcome, although it is too early to say whether this will be a long-term trend," Said wrote.
