Better Than Democracy!

Many people think democracy is the best form of government.  Citizens have the right to express their views, and to vote for representatives who will best promote their agenda.  They truly have a voice in government decisions.  Yet, despite all the protections we have for our rights, in the end Democracy is a Tyranny of the Majority.  The majority makes the decisions which impact all of us even if we oppose those decisions.

It is in the marketplace where we have true freedom of choice.  The color shirt or blouse we wear is not dictated by a majority decision.  Rather, there are entrepreneurs in the market who offer a plethora of choices in their endless pursuit of our business.  In this respect, the marketplace is better than democracy.
