Why Did FBI Ask Public To ID Tsarnaevs When It Had Them On Watch List of Islamic Militants?

Most Muslims are probably good people, but many acts of terrorism are committed by Muslims.

The FBI's handling of the Boston Marathon bombing, during the early stages of the investigation, has created skepticism for me. When they obtained and analyzed a video and other photographs of two suspects the FBI made the decision to go public with the video in the hope that sombody would recognize these suspects and thus identify them for the authorities. This action led me to believe that the FBI and other investigating agencies were asking for help with the identifications.

Later we learned that the FBI had investigated Tamerian Tsarnaev and his younger brother Dzhokar due to information supplied to them by Russia and the CIA, that information alleged that Tamerlan was possibly an Islamic radical. Reportedly the FBI met with and interviewed the brothers at great length, especially Tamerlan.

I find it hard to believe that nobody from the FBi recognized the suspects upon viewing the video and other photographic material but instead proceeded with the drama of going public for help in doing so.

Our efforts to deal with terrorism have been fraught with obstacles, e.g., the Obama Administration's refusal to accept al Qaeda inspred and Islamic Radicalism as causations of terrorism. He consistantly announces that most Muslims are good people and that may be true but it is also true that many of the acts of terrorism occurring throughout the world are committed by radical Muslims like the Tsarnaev brothers. Another thoughtless obstacle in the Marathon Bombing Case occurred when the Federal Attorney's Office and a magistrate shut down the interrogation of Dzhobar who was cooperating with investigators. He had just informed them that he and his brother had planned to bomb Manhatten's Time's Square next.
