Recently we have been witness to senseless violence which includes the ultimate crime of violence, Murder. This is an act that violates our core values, i.e., the Christian Commandment "Thou Shall Not Kill". Many people believe that every person is a gift of God, a gift not to be abused by homicide.
What has caused those in our society to unabashedly inflict great pain and suffering?
Some of the cultural conditions that have been discoused include:
Erosion of the family unit and it's leadership; Failue of school and religious education; Small but growing trend towards socislism; and other idea's in terms of causation. I would like to add one that is seldom discoused in this context, that is the irony and conflicting message we send as members of a culture that slaughter it's own children, millions of them, by abortion. This tragic contridiction to "Thou Shall Not Kill" clouds the sacredeness of life and what the prohibition of killing really means.
