D-64 Warning: Man Tried to Get Student into Car

Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 has issued a warning to parents after a student was approached by a man in a black sedan.

 

Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 has issued a warning to parents after a man in a black sedan approached an 11-year-old girl and tried to convince her to get in the car.

The statement from District 64 reads:

At approximately 3:50 p.m., an 11 year old female student was approached in the 800 S. block of Western as she walked home from school. An unknown male in a Black Sedan (No further description for the driver or the vehicle) called out to the girl as he came alongside her.

The driver stated that the girl’s mother wanted him to drive her home. The girl ran home and the Police Department was contacted immediately. Police units checked the area and were unable to locate a black sedan with a lone male driver.

Park Ridge Police Officers are continuing to investigate the incident. Please be vigilant and have students and parents report any similar suspicious activity.
