District 207 Estimates Deficit of Nearly $4 Million for 2011-2012

Spending for fiscal year reduced by more than $1 million, still outweighs revenue.

Maine Township School District 207 is looking at a nearly $4 million deficit for its 2011-2012 fiscal year, according to an article at dailyherald.com. 

The district will receive $400,000 less for the upcoming school year in federal and state funds. Eight certified teaching positions have been cut this year. In 2010, 75 teachers were laid off.
