Emerson Students Raise Breast Cancer Funds

They doubled their fundraising goal, but principal says that's not even the best part.

The students set a fundraising goal of $2,000, and more than doubled it by collecting $5,200, said Jim Morrison, the school's principal.

The students formed into teams and decorated team t-shirts, attended a pep rally, walked in the walk-a-thon from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., then returned to classes.

"To see the empathy and social skills was amazing," Morrison observed.
