Gone with the Wind Reviewed at The Summit

“Gone with the Wind” fans will have the opportunity to learn about the life and times of Margaret Mitchell before and after Scarlett at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Summit (at Touhy), Park Ridge, on Friday, Sept. 21, at 1:30 p.m. when Lynn Rymarz, author and storyteller introduces us to this Pulitzer Prize winning author.   There is no charge for this program

Hear about her childhood in Atlanta where she grew up listening to Civil War stories by her relatives who served as Confederate soldiers. Learn how their stories became the heart of her story. Discover how she created her memorable characters including, Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler. Take a look behind the scenes of how her book came to be published and made into an Academy Award winner for the Best Picture.

For further information or reservations—which are required by Tuesday, Sept. 18—call 847-825-1161, ext. 129. Light refreshments will be served. Those who attend are eligible for the Summit Guest Rewards Program which offers opportunities to earn rewards and prizes such as lunch or brunch for two at Summit, or VISA gift cards.
