Lake Shore Drive comes alive at Summit program on July 26

If “runnin’ south on Lake Shore Drive, headin’ into town,” the line made famous in the song Lake Shore Drive written by Chicago-based rock group Aliotta Haynes and Jeremiah, makes you remember zipping along that legendary roadway, come explore the book Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive: Urban American’s Most Beautiful Roadway at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Touhy, Park Ridge, on Thursday, July 26, at 1:30 p.m.  There is no charge for the program but reservations are requested. Light refreshments will be served.

Join co-authors Neal Samors and Bernard Judge, both life-long Chicagoans, as they take us on a tour down the famed roadway which runs along the shores of Lake Michigan providing one spectacular view after another.  Cutting through four city parks, it adjoins five major museums and one zoo, and is the home address of many of Chicago’s cultural and political leaders.  Samors who has authored 17 books about Chicago, and media consultant Judge who has worked as a reporter, editor and publisher for three Chicago daily newspapers as well as the City News Bureau, will have copies of their book available for sale.

For further information or reservations, which are required by Monday, July 23, call 847-825-1161 Ext. 129. Those who attend programs at The Summit are eligible for the Summit Guest Rewards Program which offers opportunities to earn rewards and prizes such as lunch or brunch for two at The Summit, or VISA gift cards.
