Learn about Chicago’s frontier history at Summit program

Come and experience the early days of the Northwest Territory frontier where Chicago now stands when Betsey Means performs her adaptation of Wau Bun the Early Day in the Northwest at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Touhy, Park Ridge, on Friday, July 20, at 1:30 p.m.  There is no charge for the program and light refreshments will be served.

Written by Juliette Magill, who married the famous Chicago fur trader and U.S. Indian sub-agent John H. Kinzie in 1830, Wau Bun tells the story of her life in the Northwest Territory. The great adventure recounts stories of the early 19th Century French voyageurs, fur trappers, British soldiers, American pioneers and Native Americans who people the wilderness that included the Great Lakes.

For further information or reservations, which are required by Tuesday, July 16, call 847-825-1161 Ext. 129.
