Morton Grove Historical Society Star Party

Come out to view and learn about the stars and planets of the night sky. The Moon, Saturn, M42 and the Pleiades will be visible with a clear, dark sky. Several telescopes will be set up in Harrer Park adjacent to the Morton Grove Historical Museum and Education Center located at 6148 W. Dempster Street.

Niles West High School Astronomy students and faculty will provide interesting and educational projects and crafts inside the Museum Education Center, as well as providing telescopes and their expertise for stargazing! To see a schedule for local “star parties” held throughout the year at the Niles West H.S. football stadium, see Niles West Physics/Astronomy teacher, Elizabeth Ramseyer’s website: www.niles-hs.k12.il.us/west/ and click on Niles West-Faculty/Staff-Elizabeth Ramseyer.

In case of cloudy skies this event will be re-scheduled.
Call the Museum and Education Center at (847) 965-0203 for details. Please note, this event was originally scheduled for April 5th but will now be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 after 7:30pm sunset.  For more information, contact Mary Busch-Museum Curator.
