Four Morton Grove-Area School Districts Earn Bright Red Apple Awards
They were ranked in top 8 percent in state.
SchoolSearch,an educational research and consulting firm, has given its 2011 Bright Red Apple Awards to four Morton Grove-area school districts.
SchoolSearch said it gave the award to 73 Illinois districts out of 868. They constitute the top 8 percent.

- Golf School District 67, which operates Hynes Elementary and Golf Middle School.
- Maine Township High School District 207, which operates Maine East, Maine South and Maine West high schools.
- , which runs Niles West and Niles North high schools.
The Bright Red Apple award, which is given to school districts that excel in what SchoolSearch identifies as five key areas that families look for when choosing a school for their children, reinforces that.
Those five areas include academic performance, pupil/teacher ratio, expenditure per pupil, educational level of teachers and average teacher salary. SchoolSearch said in a press release that according to its research, families who are relocating and looking for a good school district consider these criteria important.
