Need to Register Your Child For School? Here's How; Start Monday

District 63 will hold registration Monday and Tuesday; here's info on other districts, too.

With swimming pools beckoning and ice cream cones melting, parents can be forgiven for not getting around to registering their children for school yet.

School begins Aug. 23

(Six elementary schools and one junior high serving the north part of Niles as well as parts of Morton Grove, Des Plaines and Glenview)

Registration takes place Monday Aug. 8 from 8 am. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at Gemini Junior High School, 8955 N. Greenwood Ave., Niles. 

New families to District 63 should bring each child's original birth certificate (it has a raised seal on it), your mortgage or lease, and three proofs of residency. The District 63 Administration office, (847) 299-1900, can answer questions. 

Park Ridge-Niles Elementary District 64

School begins Aug. 22

(Six elementary and two middle schools serve the southwest portion of Niles and all of Park Ridge)

To register your child in District 64, find an information packet here.  You can register at the district office, 164 S. Prospect Ave., Park Ridge. The phone is (847) 318-4300. 

Culver School in Niles Elementary District 71

School begins Aug. 24

(A one-school district serving the south portion of Niles)

Registration is Thursday, Aug. 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the school, 6901 W. Oakton, Niles. (847) 966-9280.

St. John Brebeuf School

School begins Aug. 24

(A private Catholic school serving Niles and environs)

Down payment day is Saturday, Aug. 13. Registration information can be found on the website of this school at 8301 N. Harlem, Niles. It offers three- and four-year-old preschool, kindergarten and grades one through eight. Newly registering families, bring the child's birth and baptismal certificates, registration fees and, for children in grades one through eight, a copy of the report card from the previous school.
