Niles North Security Director Out; Charged With Felony
He resigned following a charge of felony theft of school property.
Niles Township High School District 219 released a statement Monday afternoon saying Jim DiJohn, the director of school security at Niles North, was charged with felony theft of school property, and has resigned.
Skokie police also said DiJohn was arrested for theft; the arrest took place in the 6300 block of Cicero Avenue, Chicago, according to information provided by police.
DiJohn's LinkedIn profile indicates he has been executive director of security at District 219 for 13 years. Additionally, it lists him as event manager and training manager for Safety Service Systems, which provides event management to the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs and Lollapalooza and other festivals and events, for the past five years.

Jim DiJohn has resigned as Niles North High School Security Director, following his arrest by the Skokie Police Department. DiJohn was charged with one felony count for the theft of school property. Since this is a pending criminal matter, District 219 is not commenting further about details of the case. The district is fully cooperating with the Skokie Police Department.
“Nothing is more important than the safety and security of our students and staff members,” said D219 Superintendent Nanciann Gatta. “We have an interim Director of Security and all of the important services our Security staff provides to our school community will continue uninterrupted.”
The D219 Security staff provides around-the-clock building security at its schools, oversees residency verification for students, administers student lockers and parking and maintains safe movement of students throughout the schools.

Niles North Principal Ryan McTague said, “The alleged actions of one person do not define our Security Department, which includes so many good people who work hard on behalf our students. Nor do those actions diminish our shared commitment to the students and families of our community.”
