Niles West Student Named Semi-Finalist in U.S. Physics Olympiad

Patrick Liscio was one of 400 students nationwide to be named a semi-finalist.

A Niles West High School student is one of 400 chosen across the country to be a semi-finalist in the 2013 U.S. Physics Olympiad.

Senior Patrick Liscio from Skokie is one of the semi-finalists, announced Friday. Lisico qualified for the semi-finals by scoring high enough on the F=ma exam last month. Another test will be given to the students in March, and the students with the highest score are sent to a training camp in May, the Niles West High School Newspaper reports. Only five students are chosen from the camp to be a part of the 2013 Physics Olympiad team.
