Preschool, Day Care Fair Attracts Parents

More than a dozen preschool and daycare providers set up display table at a Niles Library Preschool Fair to let parents of young children know of their services. There were schools in Morton Grove, Skokie, Niles, Park Ridge, nearby in Chicago, Mount Pr

 

Parents, some with small children in tow, browsed the tables set up at the Niles Library Wednesday, talking to day care and preschool providers about what they offer.

  • Messiah Lutheran Church preschool, 1606 Vernon, Park Ridge (just south of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Three and four-year-old preschool, kindergarten. 
  • Niles Park District's Bright Beginnings preschool; multiple locations in Niles.
  • Precious Child School in Morton Grove; preschool to grade 8; attached to Jerusalem Lutheran Church, just south of Dempster. 
  • Jefferson School in Niles, which accepts all preschoolers, including special needs children. Part of Park Ridge-Niles School District 64. 
  • Lutheran Unity Schools; one on Canfield in Chicago on the southeast border of Park Ridge; preschool to grade 8. 
  • JCC Early Childhood Center, 5050 Church Street, Skokie; infants to 5 years. 
  • Safari Childcare, six weeks old to kindergarten; with locations in Mount Prospect, Bensenville, Palatine, Highland Park.
  • Aristotle Greek Schools, preschool and kindergarten, based at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, Niles. 
  • St. John Brebeuf School, three and four year old preschool, kindergarten, grades 1 to 8, Niles. Extended day care available for all grade levels. 
  • Leaning Tower YMCA early childhood program, infancy to age 5 and a kiddie college for 3 to 5-year-olds. South end of Niles.
  • St. Mary of the Woods School, 3 anda 4 year old preschool, full day or half day, with choice of a 2, 3 or 5-day week. Also a K-8 school. In Chicago's Edgebrook neighborhood near south end of Niles.
  • Little People Montessori, Skokie.

And if there is an offer of free food even better. It does not even necessarily be a restaurant as it can also be any other type of business, i.e., bakery, retail, gym, car services, etc.
