School District 64 Parents Decide To Tape Meetings

District is also looking at taping.

Parents concerned about what happens at Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 board meetings have decided to take their own initiative and tape them, according to TribLocal.

Marshall Warren and Charlene Foss, who are both residents in the district, say residents need to be able to see what happens at these meetings, because their tax dollars are being spent.

The online location of the video was still to be determined, Warren said earlier this week.

District 64 Superintendent Philip Bender said the district is looking into the logistics of taping the meetings and letting people access them on its website.

Maine Township High School District 207 also does not tape its meetings; however, Niles Community High School District 219 does tape its board meetings, and Jim Szczepaniak, director of community relations, said community residents have told him they appreciate being able to see them on tape and that they attract a fair amount of web traffic.
