Trim Or Kill D67 Request? Readers Are Split

On Friday, we asked you to vote in a poll that laid out three options for what Golf School District 67 should do now, after voters said no to both its referendum requests in last Tuesday's election.

The poll received 70 votes, with the results as follows:

  • "Try the same thing again; place the questions on the next election ballot in substantially the same form" got 6 votes (8 %)
  • "Scale back the request, asking for a lower dollar amount, and place the question(s) on the next election ballot" got 32 votes (45%)
  • "Do nothing; the voters have spoken and they do not want to raise property taxes" got 32 votes (45%)

That meant "scale back" or "take no as the answer" added up to 90 percent of votes; only 8 percent said the district should re-mount the referendum as it was configured on the March 20 ballot.
