Viewfinder: Ugandan Leader Visits Park View School

The American chapter of Global Campaign for Education hosts an event at Park View School.

Students and teachers at participated in the Global Action Week campaign this past week, along with students from at least 100 countries. 

Teopista Birungi Mayanja, head of the Ugandan Teacher's Union, visited the school to talk about the importance of quality education. 

According to the Global Campaign for Education, almost 70 million children around the world do not have basic education, and more than half are girls.

Click through the photos to see the students' blue ribbons, which will be sent to the U.S. Congress and the White House to advocate for education for all children. 

The event was a combined effort with RESULTS/RESULTS Educational Fund CARE, the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers.
