Congratulations to the five Niles-area wrestlers qualified for the state tournament this weekend at Maine East High School, according to IHSA results.
- Jimmy Gallardo, third place at 113 pounds, Notre Dame
- Terry Calkins, third place at 126 pounds, Maine South
- Sean Heneghan, fourth place at 152 pounds, Niles West
- Vaughn Monreal-Berner, second place at 182 pounds, Niles West
- Gino Orlandi, second place at 285 pounds, Notre Dame
The athletes will now compete at the state wrestling tournament, which will be held Feb. 14 to 16 at Assembly Hall in Champaign.
