Maine South, East Go To State in Track and Field
Athletes will compete in 800 meter relay, 3200 meter run, discus, high jump and more. They include Elanta Slowek of Maine East and Emily Leonard, Olivia Cattau, Megan Lemersal of Maine South.
Several Maine East and Maine South track and field stars are heading to state finals Thursday through Saturday at O'Brien Stadium in Charleston, Ill.

- High Jump: Elanta Slowek of Maine East tied with Eloise Hawley Jr. of Loyola Academy, both with 4.11.00.
- Discus Throw: Elanta Slowek placed first with 117-05
- 4x800-Meter Relay: Maine South placed third with 9:38.19
- 3200-Meter Run: Emily Leonard of Maine South placed second with 11:18.34
- 100-Meter High Hurdles: Olivia Cattau of Maine South placed second with 15.94
- 1600-Meter Run: Megan Lemersal of Maine South placed third with 5:12.38
