Niles Baseball Parade Shuts Out Rainy Day

Hundreds of kids and parents paraded to kick off the Niles Baseball League season.

Defying drizzle with chants urging on their teams, hundreds of Niles-area boys and girls took to the streets Saturday morning in the Niles Baseball League  and Opening Day parade.

Young sluggers marched with their teams, accompanied by coaches and many parents, from Notre Dame College Prep to Grennan Heights Park. After the singing of the national anthem and a short ceremony, teams dispersed to begin playing their first games of the season.
