Niles Skate Park Construction Could Begin Soon

If all goes as planned, a new Niles skate park could be in the early phases of construction next month, the Journal & Topics reports.

At a recent park district meeting, Director Joe LoVerde said construction bids on the park could go out this week, and phase one of construction could begin shortly after, the newspaper reports. The proposed location is Washington Park. 

The skate park has been a topic of discussion since a group of teenagers proposed it to the park district board in 2010.
