Niles West alum Konner Scott is heading to the 2011 Speedo Junior National Championships in swimming next week, according to an article in the Morton Grove Champion.
This is the first time Scott has qualified for the event, held at the Stanford University pool. He narrowly missed qualifying last summer, the article says.

Scott, who is heading to the University of Pennsylvnia in the fall, said the competition will let him guage where he's at athletically before starting college.
“I’m just looking forward to (clocking) some best times,” he told the Champion. “Last summer, I was trying to make qualifying. Now, it’s about how fast I can swim before college.”
