Stanley Cup Swings By For A Visit

Excitement ran high as the Cup came to Brooks Park, across the street from Niles' Pioneer Park.

Chicago Blackhawks President and CEO John McDonough brought the Stanley Cup to Brooks Park, which is across the street from Niles, for a morning rally Saturday.

Blackhawks fans showed up in numbers to see the Cup and once again celebrate the team's victory on the ice.

Alderman Mary E. O'Connor of the 41st Ward introduced McDonough, and Principal Katrina McDermott of St. Juliana School and Principal Dan Tully of Notre Dame College Prep also said some warm words. And what would a rally be without Jim Cornelison, who sings the national anthem at Blackhawks games, inspiring the crowd with "The Star-Spangled Banner'?

Brooks Park is at 7100 N. Harlem Ave., Chicago, and is right across Harlem Avenue from Niles' Pioneer Park.
