Celebrate The Fourth With Niles' Parade, Fest, Local Fireworks



Are you ready to have some fun?

All right! Niles has a 9 a.m. Fourth of July parade and a post-parade celebration that are always a blast. For fireworks, head to Maine East High School TONIGHT, Wednesday July 3, or to Morton Grove on Thursday, July 4. 

Wednesday, July 3

  • Enjoy the Park Ridge Park District fireworks and concert. Head to Maine East High School's field, on Dempster between Potter and Vernon (west of Greenwood) for a patriotic celebration. Bring a picnic--no alcohol allowed--and enjoy DJ entertainment at 6:30, the Brian Patti Orchestra at 8 p.m. and fireworks starting at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Thursday, July 4

  • 9:00 am. The parade starts at Notre Dame College Prep, and heads south on Ozark, east on Main Street, south on Harlem and west on Monroe to Grennan Heights Park, 8255 Oketo, Niles. Be aware these streets will be closed to traffic.
  • 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Gather at Grennan Heights Park for a post-parade celebration which includes a live band, pony rides, the Niles Fire Department setting up a water cannon for kids (or adults) to splash in, dozens of carnival-type games and prizes for children, a bounce house, hot dogs and pop.
  • Afternoon and evening: There's a festival, food and carnival at Morton Grove Days, at Harrer Park in Morton Grove. Be sure to get a seat on the lawn for the fireworks display beginning around 9:15 p.m.
