Romanian Fest Takes Place Saturday, Sunday

It will feature a costume parade, soccer game, Romanian food, music and dance.

 

The Romanian Heritage Festival is coming to Niles Saturday and Sunday, under tents set up at 7777 Caldwell Avenue, between Howard and Oakton Steets.

The event will feature a soccer tournament, parade of traditional Romanian costumes, and live music by a variety of Romanian musicians and bands, from rock to traditional folk music.

Patrons can purchase traditional Romanian dishes such as goulash, stuffed cabbage rolls, chicken skewers, sausage, fried dough with cheese and polenta with cheese.

Admission is free for ages 11 and under, $5 for ages 12 to 16 and ages 65 plus, and $10 for adults ages 17 to 64.
