A portion of Dempster Street is closed off.

Car parts and debris are scattered along Dempster after a car hit a tree in front of Burger King in Skokie.
Dempster is closed off from Crawford to Avers in Skokie.
Police are still on the scene, and are asking motorists to avoid the area.
