Niles’s First Christmas Tree Lighting a Success

Village of Niles, November 26

Niles, Ill. (December 2, 2013) – Thank you to everyone who joined us at our inaugural Christmas Tree Lighting where we were able to celebrate the holiday season as a unified community. Many cultures were represented through the decorations, food and beverages. It is the Village of Niles’s goal to continue to celebrate and grow closer through such events. The beautifully decorated tree is located in the main lobby of Village Hall and stands as a centerpiece for all residents. All other cultures were represented through the countless decorations.

The Village of Niles had an exceptional turnout including State Senator John Mulroe, State Representative Michael McAuliffe, and an estimated 200 other attendees. Thank you to Chris Zalinski, Niles Chamber Citizen of the year, for being our special guest. Thank you to Kappy’s, Grazianos, Oak Mill Bakery, the White Eagle, Lone Tree Manor, Schmeisser’s, and Woori Village for providing food to our guests. And a special thanks to the talented young people of Culver Schools who entertained with wonderful music and song. The Village is delighted that so many citizens and volunteers chose to begin their holidays with us.
