Pet of the Week: Sam

Each week, we spotlight an exceptional pet available for adoption from a local rescue.

Meet Sam! I was lucky enough to spend a few hours with Sam at a Chicago Canine Rescue event recently, and he is fantastic. Sam is a 5-year-old pointer who was found in an abandoned house. Even though he was left behind, it is clear that Sam had been well-socialized and cared for. He loves people and dogs of all ages, which is why he does such a great job of representing CCR at public events.

Sam is an active guy who loves to have fun! He would love someone to be active with during the day and to snuggle with at night. And he's so handsome, too. Stop by Chicago Canine Rescue to meet him and perhaps take him on a walk. As he is a very active dog, he is fairly strong on the leash. He's smart, though, and with consistent training he would learn to wait for you.

Sam is vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. For more information on Sam and the other dogs at Chicago Canine Rescue, visit http://chicagocaninerescue.org/.  And don't forget, you can always stop by the shelter to take Sam or one of his buddies for a walk!
