Pet of the Week: Scooby

Each week, we spotlight an exceptional pet available for adoption from a local rescue.

Scooby is a two year old hound mix and he's looking for an active family to call his own!  He is a big boy and he has a lot of energy, so plenty of physical activity is a must for Scooby.  Since he's part hound, he also loves to follow his nose.  A secure yard and environment is important to keep him safe.

As an added bonus, Scooby has recently completed a residential training program in Northern IN, where he learned some basic obedience and manners.  He can't wait to show off his skills for his new forever family!  He plays well with other large dogs, but may be a bit overwhelming to small dogs and cats.  And while he's great with kids, he may be too big and active for little ones.

If you are interested in bringing Scooby into your home, visit http://chicagocaninerescue.org/ for more info on adopting and fostering.  Scooby is current on his vaccines and heartworm check and preventive, and he is neutered and microchipped.

And if you are not ready to commit to bringing a dog into your home permanently, consider fostering or volunteering to come walk the dogs.  Going on walks is great for them and for you, too!
