- The village of Niles is having its first-ever Christmas tree lighting Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall. Chris Zalinski, owner of Chris' Landscaping and recipient of the 2013 Niles Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year award, will do the honors of lighting the tree. The village says the ceremony will be multicultural, and the Culver School choir will sing. We hear there will be some nice refreshments, too.
- Santa has arrived at Golf Mill Shopping Center, and parents and kids can visit him for photos seven days a week.
- There are not one, but two menorah lightings at Westfield Old Orchard Mall this week. The first is on Weds., Nov. 27 at 5:30 p.m, led by Congregation Bnai Emunah.
- And the second is on Dec. 1 at 3:30 p.m., near The Cube in Old Orchard. It will be led by Lubavitch Chabad.
