Laugh Away Your Problems As Marx Brothers Film Screens
Plan your week: there's a Jane Austen film festival, the Citizens Police Academy, a bowling benefit to aid cancer patients, and more.
Here's what's happening in Niles and Morton Grove this week:
- Have you got problems? Whether they're big or little, you'll forget them watching the Marx Brothers' antics in "A Night At the Opera," Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Morton Grove Public Library.
- Sign up for the Citizens Police Academy and learn how the Niles Police Department operates. You will learn about laws, evidence and charges; get to ride along in a squad car with an officer on duty, and do a simulation exercise. You'll graduate more knowledgeable about police work.
- If you're a hopeless romantic, there's a cup of tea with your name on it at the Jane Austen Festival: Film and Tea Sunday. The fest starts with a tea. of course, and a screening of Pride and Prejudice, at the Morton Grove Library.
- If you like to bowl, help young mothers with cancer at the Bowling Benefit Blast Sunday, Sept. 8 at Brunswick Zone in Niles. Proceeds go to help cancer patients.
