Party Saturday and Sunday At The Backlot Bash

Looking for some fun things to do this weekend? Here you go.

• They're closing down Oakton Street in downtown Skokie and putting up huge tents for the free concerts and other hoopla going on with Backlot Bash. It runs 11 a.m. Saturday through Sunday night, and will feature live music, a 5K, a silent film festival, sidewalk sales, a pancake breakfast, lots of food from area restaurants, a carnival and who knows what else.
• It's Dance Day at the Morton Grove Farmer's Market, from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday. They dance so you don't have to. But I suppose you could dance if you wanted to. Also, did you know bird houses could go into foreclosure? They're, ahem, going for a song.
• The Oasis Fun Center pool is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Next weekend is the last weekend, and who knows what the weather will be.
