Niles' village hall is the first stop for citizens who have any business to transact with the village government. Residents can pay their water bills, pay for their vehicle stickers, apply for a building permit and get information about liquor licenses, business development, code and many other topics.

The current building was built in 1997, replacing two prior incarnations of village hall.

In response to the question, "What makes this community great?" three administrators offered very different answers.

"The families, the family businesses, the churches--it's a community-oriented town," said George Van Geem, village manager.

"The high level of service we provide and the diversity of the population," said Marlene Victorine, village clerk.

"This is a great community to shop in--we have Target, a mall, tons of great paces to eat and the Dine-In Niles program (in which residents receive a discount at participating restaurants)," said Kimberly Trausch, assistant village clerk.
