Action Party Kicks Off April Campaign in Morton Grove
They are gearing up for the April 2013 municipal election, when a mayor, clerk and trustees will be elected.
On Thursday evening, five days before that "other" election, members of Morton Grove's Action party launched their campaign for the April 2013 municipal elections. About 40 people gathered at Tommy's Pub to hear the candidates get introduced, shake hands with them and pick up candidate petitions to circulate. The party's candidates include Dan Staackmann for mayor; William Grear, Tony Kalogerakos and John Pietron for trustee and Ed Ramos for clerk. Staackmann is the current mayor, Grear is currently a trustee and Kalogerakos is currently village clerk. As for opposition candidates, Larry Gomberg, a current trustee, has declared his intention to run for mayor. Other candidates have until Dec. 24 to file their petitions. Get Morton …

I hope more people will throw their hats into this election slate besides Larry Gomberg. He is a good man, but if he loses, we will be back to this one party rule of the Action Party. This party has been less than communicative about their dealings. Most of us find out about their arrangements after the deals have been made.
