Looking for a dog who is out of this world?!? Meet Dr. Spock! It is not too often that Chicago Canine Rescue gets huskies, so if you are a fan, act fast! Dr. Spock is a really sweet young husky mix. He is around 9 months old and 40 pounds, so he is a nice size. He has awesome blue eyes, and a great personality to match! He can be a bit shy at first, but he warms up quickly. He just needs the stability of his own family! Dr. Spock is a northern breed, so there are certain traits you should be aware of if you are considering adopting this handsome fella. If you are looking for a sweet, snuggly girl to add to your family, you may want to consider Toni! She is so soft that your fingers just melt into her coat! Toni is a beautiful retriever mix, so she aims to please. She is currently lucky enough to be in a foster home where she can relax and learn the ropes while she waits for a family of her own. Toni is a passive girl. She does well with kids and other dogs, although she may be intimidated by a very dominant dog. She is quite polite and will quickly retreat if pushed. Meet Zora!!! Zora is a super-sweet, super-smart girl who is looking for her own people to please! Zora is a big girl, but she has self control. At around 2 years of age, she has settled down a bit, but she still has plenty of energy to have a great time! Zora has a nice short coat, so she will be easy to care for. Pilgrim is a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky guy! Just look at that face! While he is fairly new to Chicago Canine Rescue, it is obvious that he is a real sweetheart. Meet sweet, sweet Mira! Mira is a one year old Blue Tick Coonhound/mix. And did I mention how sweet she is?!? In typical hound fashion, she is friendly and easy going. Since hounds are bred to work in groups, they tend to be very social with people and other dogs. They, of course, like to follow their noses, so Mira will need a secure yard or leash walks to be sure she doesn't have a chance to wander off. In addition to being such a nice girl, Mira has the softest big ears! She is looking for someone of her own to sit and pet them- she loves that! Puppa loves everyone!!! He was dropped off at Chicago Canine Rescue by his previous owner, as she is no longer able to care for him. She was clearly devastated by her decision, but it was what she felt she needed to do for Puppa. Since he has been in a loving home his whole life, he is very well-adjusted to home life. He loves people of all ages, including kids, other dogs, and cats, too! Although he is 8 years old, Puppa still has tons of energy! He gets so excited by toys, and absolutely loves playing fetch- he's a Labrador Retriever, after all! Puppa currently weighs in at around 100 pounds! These two cuties are a bonded pair, so ideally Peeka and Boo would be adopted together. In this case, two is better than one! Peeka and Boo came to Chicago Canine Rescue from a pug breeder who became ill and could no longer care for her dogs. They are super sweet and super cute! Peeka is a 6 year old male, and Boo is an 8 year old female. When they are together, there is nothing cuter!!! Peeka and Boo are currently in a foster home. This means they are familiar with house manners, which is great for whoever is lucky enough to adopt these guys! Pugs are charming and fun loving dogs, and these two are no exception. Meet Handsome Jack! Jack is an Australian Shepherd mix, and so he comes with lots of smarts! Although he is around seven years old, he comes with lots of energy, too! And one look at his picture tells you that he also comes with great looks! What a package!!! Jack already knows basic commands such as "sit" and "down". He would be great for someone looking for an agility dog, since he is so trainable and energetic. It is important that he goes to a home where his body and mind will be kept busy. If you are looking for a stunningly handsome sidekick, Claude may be your guy! Claude is a young Catahoula mix with the most amazing coloring! "Tiger striped" would describe his markings- he is certainly an attention-grabber! Claude was recently adopted, then sadly, had to be returned to Chicago Canine Rescue. It turns out that the resident cat was none too pleased with his enthusiastic outlook on life! Due to his energy, he may do better in a home without cats, although he would love to have a canine playmate! He would do great in an active family. Houlihan is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met! She is a coonhound mix, and all she wants is love! She has a very mellow personality; long, easy walks are her idea of a good time.
