A Community Flag for Veterans Day

How we all came together in Morton Grove and created a tribute to our country's flag.

On a hot day this past summer, our Camp Fire USA troop sat in a parking lot to create a tribute to the American flag. This wasn't done alone and the parking lot was host to the weekly Morton Grove Farmer's Market. So, we were in the shade of a tent and had plenty of eager volunteers to help us with our project. It all started with a recycled piece of cardboard from Aldi over on Golf Road. I told the manager about our idea, and he grabbed the biggest piece of cardboard he could find. He also gave me several smaller boxes with red, white and blue printing. I had been at the Morton Grove Public Library earlier that week and asked for old flyers that I could use in a recycling project.
