Bank Robbed in Norridge Monday

Police are looking for the man who held up a Bank of America in the 8400 block of Lawrence Avenue, not far from Park Ridge and Niles.

  Police are searching for a man who held up the Bank of America at 8422 W. Lawrence Avenue, Norridge, just after 11:15 a.m. Monday, according to bandittracker.com. The suspect, shown in these security camera photos, is described as a white male about 5'7", in his mid-20s, approx. 180 lbs., glasses, goatee, dark hair, wearing a White Sox cap, grey and white Nike “Jordan” hooded jacket, blue jeans.  The suspect did not display a weapon during the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI in Chicago at (312) 421-6700. There is a reward available for information leading to the suspect's arrest. Older Man With Cane Robs Niles Bank

FBI sources said he displayed a weapon, according to chicago.cbslocal.com.

  An older man carrying a cane robbed a Niles branch of BMO Harris Bank, chicago.cbslocal.com reported.  The man displayed a weapon, according to the Chicago Tribune, but no one was hurt during the incident.  The BMO Harris branch is at 7077 W. Morton Grove Bank Robbed Friday

A robber demanded money at about 2:30 p.m.

    Morton Grove police responded at about 2:30 p.m. Friday to a report of a bank robbery at the MB Financial Bank branch at 9147 Waukegan Road, the department said in a press release. A person entered the bank and demanded money, but did not display a weapon or indicate they had one. The person left the bank with an undetermined amount of money, police said. No one was injured.   The Morton Grove Police Department is assisting the FBI in this investigation. Suspected Serial Bank Robber Captured

The suspect in six bank robberies in the Chicago area, including one in Arlington Heights, has been captured, according to Bandit Tracker Chicago.

One of Chicago's most wanted, the man suspected in a slew of area bank robberies, Kenneth F. White II, 34, has been captured, according to Bandit Tracker Chicago. Identified by images captured on bank surveillance cameras, the FBI released White's name in late November. Suspected of robbing six banks in the Chicagoland area in about a month's time, the FBI offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the 34-year-old's arrest, who was considered armed and dangerous. 'Elmer Fudd Bandit' Robs Another Bank

A serial bank robber nicknamed the 'Elmer Fudd Bandit' has struck again, according to the FBI.

A serial bank robber who tried to rob a bank in Des Plaines has struck again, the FBI stated. A TCF Bank branch located at 7342 W. Foster Ave. in Chicago was robbed Monday afternoon. The man is suspected of robbing several banks in the Chicago area in October and trying to rob the TCF Bank in Jewel Osco, 819 S. Elmhurst Road in Des Plaines on Oct. 14. In the Monday robbery, the man presented a note to a teller demanding cash and fled on foot. The man did not show a weapon. The robbery is similar to the Oct. 14 attempted robbery in Des Plaines. In that incident, "The man approached the shift supervisor at the TCF Bank, and said, “Give me all your money or I’ll blow your head off.” He then showed the bank worker a notepad, which stated, …

Suspect Charged in $200,000 TCF Bank Robbery

Citizen's tip leads authorities to make an arrest involving Niles holdup on Nov.16.

Marcel Herrera, 27, of Chicago has been arrested and charged with bank robbery in the Nov. 16 holdup of TCF Bank at 7759 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Niles. Robert Grant, the agent in charge of the FBI office in Chicago, made the announcement Wednesday. He was joined by Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart, Niles Police Chief Dean Strzelecki and an Illinois Police Department representative. According to the FBI, Herrera  was arrested Tuesday afternoon by officers from the FBI, the county sheriff's office and the town's police department. Later that day, Herrera was charged in a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Chicago. Authorities reported that Herrera entered the bank branch just before closing about 6:50 p.m. on Nov. 16. He …

TCF Bank Robbed Late Tuesday

Man fled the area.

A man in his 20s wearing a fedora hat and sunglasses robbed the TCF Bank at 7759 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles, at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses described the man as Hispanic, 5'10" tall and approximately 165 pounds, with a mustache and goatee.  The man did not display a weapon nor indicate that he had one. He fled the area, and a police search did not find him.  The Niles Police and FBI are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the Niles Police at 847-588-6500.
