Crystal Perez's attorney has requested medical records in an effort to show improper care at Cook County Jail.
While Crystal Perez’s attorney awaits medical records, the 19-year-old Glenview woman charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated vehicular hijacking remains in Cook County jail, according to her lawyer John Romano. Unable to raise $30,000 cash for release on a $300,000 bond, she is powerless to receive proper care for her injured shoulder, Romano told Patch after a status hearing June 1 in the Circuit Court of Cook County. Both charges against Perez are considered Class X felonies and carry a prison sentence between six and 30 years, according to Cook County State’s Attorney spokesman Andy Conklin. A pre-trial investigation for Allen Giron, a Glenview man charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, is complete according to statements made May 20 in the Skokie branch of Cook County Criminal Court. The investigation was requested April 14 by Giron attorney Steven Goldman in an effort to stimulate a resolution. If convicted however, Giron could face up to seven years in prison for two alleged sexual encounters with a 13-year-old Des Plaines girl that left her with herpes, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Department. Bond was modified May 17 in Cook County Circuit Court to allow Christopher Brooke Beal-- the former executive director of the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC)--to leave the state as he awaits trial on charges of embezzling more than $900,000. The Cook County Grand Jury recently indicted Beal on two charges each of theft of government property, official misconduct and forgery. These Class X felonies carry a prison sentence of six to 30 years, according to Cook County State’s Attorney spokesperson Andy Conklin. A 21-year-old Niles man charged with having sexual contact with a minor pleaded not guilty to the charges after his indictment on one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse was announced April 11 in Cook County Criminal Court in Skokie. Roland Moji V. Martinez was originally charged Feb. 27 after Glenview police discovered him at the Marriott Courtyard on Milwaukee Avenue with an underage female. They learned of his whereabouts after stopping two male juveniles walking in the 4200 Block of West Lake Avenue at 3 a.m. that day. According to police, Martinez had purchased alcohol for them and consumed at drinks at the motel. Allen Giron, an 18-year-old Glenview man and Glenbrook South senior, was indicted today in Cook County Circuit Court on a single count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.
